In writing I have used a poem by James K. Baxter as a starting point to write my own poem. I hope you like it.

Te towaka was usual enough 
it had a wharf ,  stingrays , crabs , houses , and even the
ocean .
my cousins and I did what kids do -
jumping off the wharf , kayaking , biking , walking and playing sport

For the last couple of weeks I have been creating my own koru art based on the work of Raewyn Harris. She is a New Zealand artist and you can look at her work on this link.
